Interview Rescheduled? How to Get Your Session Credit Back (Credit Back Guarantee)

Interview cancelled at the last minute, call dropped, or something broke? With InterviewPilot's Credit Back Guarantee, a paid session that ended with fewer than 3 questions comes back as a fresh credit. Here's who qualifies, how to claim it in two clicks, and what to do when an interview gets rescheduled.

Interviews move. A recruiter emails ten minutes before the call, the interviewer's calendar double-books, your Wi-Fi gives out halfway through the introductions. If you had already started a paid InterviewPilot session, that used to mean a wasted credit, or an email to support and a wait.

The Credit Back Guarantee fixes that. When a paid session ends almost before it began, InterviewPilot offers the credit back in the app, right away, without a support ticket.

What the Credit Back Guarantee covers

A session qualifies when all of these are true:

RuleWhy it's there
It was paid for with a session-pack creditFree sessions cost nothing, and unlimited plans never spend credits.
Fewer than 3 questions were askedA session that answered a handful of questions did its job.
It ran 20 minutes or lessA rescheduled or dropped interview ends early. A full round doesn't.
It happened in the last 30 daysPlenty of time, without old sessions piling up.
Its credit hasn't already come backEach session can be returned once.

Very short sessions (under a minute, with no questions) are refunded automatically, so they never need a claim.

How to get your credit back

You don't have to go looking for it.

  1. End the session as soon as you know the interview isn't happening, from the desktop overlay or the website.
  2. A popup appears on your dashboard: "Get this session's credit back?" It shows which session it means, why you're seeing it, and how many credit backs you have left this month.
  3. Optionally pick what happened: interview rescheduled, network or tech issue, or something else. This helps us fix real problems, and you can skip it.
  4. Click "Get my credit back". The credit is added to your account immediately, as a new credit valid for 2 months.

If you close the popup with Later, it comes back the next day. If the session actually went fine and you want to keep it charged, choose Keep it charged and we won't ask about that session again, on any device.

Want this on your screen during the real interview?

InterviewPilot listens to the interviewer, reads the problem off your screen, and streams a structured answer to an overlay that Zoom, Meet and Teams screen shares can’t see.

Monthly limits, explained

The guarantee is meant for the interview that didn't happen, not as a way to run sessions for free. So it has a simple monthly allowance (calendar month, India time):

  • 2 instant credit backs. Approved on the spot, no questions asked.
  • A 3rd credit back by request. The button changes to Request credit back. Our team reviews it and emails you the outcome. If approved, the credit is added automatically.
  • That's the cap. After 3 in a month, the next ones wait for the 1st.

The popup always tells you where you stand, for example "1 of 2 instant credit backs left this month", so there are no surprises.

Returned credits are fresh credits with their own 2-month validity, counted from the day they come back. They're used like any other session credit.

What to do when an interview gets rescheduled

Getting the credit back is the easy part. A few habits make a reschedule cost you nothing else:

  • End the session promptly. Don't leave it running while you wait to see if the interviewer turns up. If the call hasn't started within 10 to 15 minutes, end it. You can start a new one in seconds when they do join.
  • Reply to the reschedule the same day. A short, flexible reply ("Thanks for letting me know. Any of these slots work for me: …") keeps you top of mind. Offer two or three concrete times rather than "whenever suits you".
  • Use the extra time. A new date is extra preparation time. Rework your answer to "Tell me about yourself", revisit the DSA patterns for the round, or run through system design questions if it's a design loop.
  • Check your setup before the new slot. Dropped calls are usually network trouble. A wired connection or sitting closer to the router, a quick audio test and a few minutes on the online interview basics prevent a second interruption.
  • Re-attach your resume and job brief. If the rescheduled round is with a different interviewer or team, update the brief so answers match the new context.

Why we built it

When people told us why a paid session ended early, the answers were usually outside their control: the interview was moved, or the connection failed. Fixing that through support, one email at a time, was slow for you and for us. Now the app does it for you, with limits that keep it fair for everyone.

If a session went wrong for a reason the app can't see, reply to any of our emails or write to [email protected] and we'll take a look.
